Guards on wheels

I always loved this picture. From left to right: My Uncle Kim, Auntie Jubie, My Dad John, Auintie Wendy, and Auntie Susie. I think it was in the Honolulu Star Bulletin for some reason???

Fridge Pics

This morning I came across the tupperware full of pictures that were on my Grandparent's refrigerator for nearly twenty years. Hopefully they will inspire lots of stories...

Family History

Growing up on Maui was indescribable. Living on the same property as my Grandmother and Grandfather, Jack and Jane Guard Jr, and my Uncle Kim, Auntie Bonnie, and cousins Heather and Sam, there was always a family gathering. Aunties and uncles would come from outer islands regularly, and my cousins living on the mainland made it as often as they could. I have the greatest memories of dinners at the dining room table, laughing hysterically at the stories, where my Grandmother was usually the butt of the joke. She was always laughing along with us.
Since my Grandparents passed away, Mama nearly 15 years ago, we don't all get together like we used to. There are so many stories, some I remember, but most of them are blurry. Hopefully this blog will be a place where we can all tell the stories as we remember them, so that our keiki and their keiki will know the history of this great family. This blog is dedicated to Mama and Papa, and to the preservation of our family history.
